Take Profit Trader: rules explained & deals

One-step futures test, day-one withdrawals in PRO, and a live-market PRO+ tier.

Overview

Take Profit Trader (TPT) is a one-step futures funding firm based in Florida. You pass a test account, move to a simulated PRO account, and can upgrade to PRO+, which TPT describes as a live-market account routed to the exchange through Tradovate.

TPT's main pitch is payouts: withdrawals are available from day one in PRO, with no consistency rule in the funded stage. In exchange, PRO uses an intraday trailing drawdown and a buffer.

From August 17, 2026, new test accounts need 3 trading days instead of 5. Tests already in progress or reset keep the five-day minimum.

How the evaluation works

  1. Buy a testChoose an account size. Resets are optional.
  2. Pass the 6 test rulesProfit target, position size, EOD drawdown, approved products and hours, consistency, no counter positions.
  3. Trade PROSimulated funded account. TPT's comparison table lists a one-time $130 PRO fee.
  4. Withdraw or upgradeWithdraw above the buffer from day one, or move to PRO+ for EOD drawdown, no buffer and a 90% split.

Rules in plain English

Profit target

Each test size has its own fixed profit target, listed on TPT's account-size table. Check the current table before you buy.

EOD trailing drawdown in the test

Calculated once at the close of each trading day, not on open positions during the day. There's no daily loss limit in the test.

Approved products and hours

Trade only the futures products and trading hours TPT approves. The list is in TPT's help center under the test rules.

Consistency: 3 days and 50%

You need at least 3 trading days (any day with at least one trade), and your best day must be below 50% of total net profit. Going over doesn't fail you; your required profit simply rises to more than twice your best day. TPT's example: a $2,000 best day means you need more than $4,000.

No counter positions

You can't hold opposite positions in the same or closely related contracts across accounts you control.

PRO buffer

The buffer equals your account's maximum drawdown: you need $52,000 on a 50K before withdrawing, for example. Anything above it can be withdrawn at an 80% split from day one. Money inside the buffer can only be taken by closing the PRO account, and TPT's help center says you then receive 50% of the buffer zone.

PRO drawdown and news

PRO uses intraday trailing drawdown and does not allow trading during specific major news events.

PRO+

PRO+ is a live-market account: orders are routed to the exchange by Tradovate. TPT lists end-of-day drawdown, no buffer requirement and a 90/10 profit split.

Watch out
  • The drawdown type changes between stages: EOD in the test, intraday in PRO, EOD again in PRO+. Size positions for the stage you're in.
  • TPT allows up to five funded accounts (PRO, PRO+ or a mix).
