Take Profit Trader vs Apex Trader Funding

Both firms pitch fast access to payouts. TPT lets you withdraw from day one of PRO once you clear a buffer; Apex pays in capped steps after qualifying days. The pricing models differ too.

Who each is better for

Take Profit Trader is the better fit for

Traders who want withdrawals from day one above the buffer with no per-payout cap, and a path to a live PRO+ account at 90/10.

Apex is the better fit for

Traders who prefer a one-time fee over a monthly subscription and a 100% split, and who accept capped, consistency-checked PA payouts.

Neither is "best" for everyone. The right pick depends on how you trade: your strategy's daily swings, whether you trade news or use automation, and how fast you need payouts.

Red flags and rule changes we track

Take Profit Trader

Watch out
  • Profit inside the PRO buffer now pays a flat 50% when you close the account (changed Oct 2026).
  • The drawdown type changes by stage: end-of-day in the test, intraday in PRO, end-of-day in PRO+.
  • The test is a monthly subscription that doesn't cancel itself if you break a rule. Cancel it from the dashboard.
  • If a renewal payment fails and the account expires, TPT says it can't reactivate it.

Rule changes we've logged:

  1. Take Profit TraderPayoutsStricter

PRO buffer profit now pays a flat 50% on closing

TPT's PRO withdrawal article now says you can withdraw 50% of your buffer zone after the PRO account is closed. The earlier version paid 80% after more than 60 trading days. Withdrawals above the buffer still pay 80% from day one.

Who it affects: PRO accounts closed with profit inside the buffer. Trackers report no exception for existing accounts; TPT hasn't confirmed that. Checked Oct 23, 2026.

  2. Take Profit TraderEvaluation

Minimum trading days cut from 5 to 3

New test accounts need 3 trading days instead of 5 to pass. The 50% consistency rule still applies.

Who it affects: New tests from Aug 17, 2026. Tests already in progress or reset keep the five-day minimum.

Apex Trader Funding

Watch out
  • Legacy and new accounts follow different rules. Apex brought legacy accounts back for a limited time in October 2026, so check which product you're buying.
  • PA payouts need 50% consistency and are capped per payout, with a maximum of 6 payouts on the 50K EOD PA.
  • No automation of any kind, which rules out bots and trade copiers shared with others.
  • The price and activation fee are only shown inside the checkout configurator, so confirm the total before paying.

Rule changes we've logged:

  1. Apex Trader FundingEvaluation

New account lineup; legacy accounts keep their rules

Accounts bought on or after Mar 1, 2026 use Apex's new products: EOD or intraday drawdown options, one-time fees and no evaluation consistency rule. Performance Accounts use a 50% consistency rule for payouts. In October 2026 Apex's homepage advertised legacy evaluations as available again as a limited-time promotion.

Who it affects: Accounts purchased on or after Mar 1, 2026. Apex says legacy accounts aren't affected.
