Overview
Apex Trader Funding is a US futures prop firm. You pay for a simulated evaluation account, trade it to a profit target while staying inside the drawdown rules, then move to a simulated Performance Account (PA) where you can request payouts.
In 2026 Apex relaunched its lineup. Accounts bought on or after March 1, 2026 are “new” products with their own rule set; anything purchased before that date is a “legacy” account that keeps its original rules. Apex says legacy accounts are not affected by the new program, and in October 2026 its homepage advertised legacy evaluations as available again for a limited-time promotion.
Apex's homepage lists end-of-day (EOD) and intraday drawdown options, one-time fees with no recurring billing on the new products, up to 20 accounts, no consistency rule during the evaluation, and five trading days between payouts.
How the evaluation works
- Pick an evaluationChoose a drawdown type (EOD or intraday), platform and account size.
- Pass the evaluationReach the profit target without touching the drawdown threshold. Apex says new evaluations can be passed in as little as one day.
- Activate the PAApex's own step list mentions an activation fee when moving to a PA; check the product page for whether your account type has one.
- Request payoutsMeet the PA payout conditions below. Apex states payouts are paid at a 100% split on approved amounts for EOD PAs.
Rules in plain English
EOD drawdown
On EOD accounts the drawdown threshold is calculated once a day at market close from your end-of-day balance, and only ever moves up. It is enforced in real time the next session: if your balance touches it at any moment, the evaluation fails (or the PA closes) and open positions are liquidated. Calculated at the close does not mean safe intraday.
50% consistency (PA payouts only)
No single profitable day may be 50% or more of your net profit since your last approved payout. Breaking it does not fail the account; the payout button just stays unavailable until other days catch up. Quick math from Apex: biggest day ÷ 0.5 = minimum net profit you need. A $1,500 best day means you need at least $3,000 net. Losing days reduce net profit, so they make this harder.
Five qualifying days
An EOD PA needs at least five trading days that each hit a minimum daily profit before you can request a payout: $100 on 25K, $250 on 50K, $300 on 100K, $350 on 150K. Days don't need to be consecutive and there's no deadline.
Safety net
Your balance must stay above the drawdown limit plus $100 (for example $52,100 on a 50K EOD PA) for the life of the PA. Only profit above that line can be withdrawn, and the minimum request is $500, so the minimum balance to request on a 50K is $52,600.
Payout count
Apex lists a maximum of six payouts per EOD Performance Account.
- Legacy and new accounts follow different rules. Check which one you hold before relying on any rule summary, including this one.
- The payout figures above are for EOD Performance Accounts. Intraday accounts have their own pages in Apex's help center.
